Abstract

|
The purpose of this study was to investigate factors influencing conflict of family living with the elderly using the data ``Korean Welfare Panel Study Ver.Ⅳ`` collected from the Korean Institute for Health and Social Affaris(KIHASA) and Seoul National University. The total subjects were 375 households which live with and support for one person who is 65 or older. To verify the factors which influence to family conflict, the independent variable was measured in 3 areas：elderly personal characteristics, household and householder`s characteristics, and social welfare service. Descriptive analysis were used to investigate variables and the characteristics of the respondents. Multiple regression analysis were utilized for verifying the research model. The finding are as follows：gender and chronic disease among elderly personal characteristics, householders` education level, family life satisfaction, stress among household and householder`s characteristics, number of social welfare service affected to family conflict. This research on the factors of conflict of family living with the elderly provides important guidelines for social welfare services. The variety of factors affecting family conflict must be recognized. Moreover, not only services for the elderly, but services for the householder and other family are needed.
